Blue Bubble Taxi Services under the Covid Traffic Light Framework.

 

Taxi Drivers:

  • There is NO government mandate that all Taxi Drivers must be vaccinated or display a Vaccine Pass.

  • The majority of our fleets are at 100% Double Vaccinated (Auckland Co-op Taxis & Wellington Combined Taxis) or are very close to 100%

  • Drivers must wear face coverings at all Traffic Light levels.

  • Vehicles will display the Covid QR code and passengers are encouraged to sign in using their QR App.

  • Drivers are prohibited from denying passengers access to the service on the grounds of vaccination status and should not ask for the passenger’s vaccination status.

  • Drivers can refuse to carry passengers where the driver fears for their personnel safety and may include instances where a passenger refuses to wear a face covering.

  • Drivers will wipe down frequently touched surfaces between each hire and give the vehicle a thorough clean before starting their next shift.

  • Drivers are to cease plying for hire if they feel unwell and are required to have a negative result to a Covid test before resuming work.

 

Taxi Passengers:

  • There is NO government mandate for passengers to have a Vaccine Pass and Blue Bubble Taxis will carry both vaccinated and non-vaccinated passengers.

  • Drivers can refuse to carry passengers where the driver fears for their personnel safety and may include instances where a passenger refuses to wear a face covering.

  • Vehicles will display the Covid QR code and passengers are encouraged to sign in using their QR App

  • Passengers must wear face coverings at the Red, Orange, and Green Traffic Light levels

  • Passengers CAN request a double vaccinated driver and their job will be dispatched only to drivers who have provided copies of their Vaccine Pass to the Dispatch Office.

  • Passengers can also ask for a driver’s vaccine status when hiring a taxi from a taxi rank.

  • Physical Distancing is no longer a requirement under the Traffic Light Framework however Blue Bubble Taxis recommends that passengers sit in the rear left-hand seat if possible.

 

Inter-Regional Travel between Traffic Light Colour Zones:

There are no restrictions on travel, either within the Red areas or for travel into an area at a different colour, except for:

  1. People if they are unwell or subject to a Health Act section 70 Notice (a stay at home notice) or

  1. People travelling out of the extended Auckland area during the period 15 December 2021 to30th December 2021 will need to be vaccinated or tested before they travel and will need to carry and have evidence of this – but otherwise, can travel for any reason

AUCKLAND CITY

CITY TOUR

Discover why Auckland is regarded as one of the best cities in the world to live, with a half-day tour of its scenic city highlights.

 

The tour begins at Princes Wharf.  Looking out on the stunning Waitemata Harbour, Princes Wharf is a space for great harbour views and a way to get some fresh air while you watch the ships come in or the sails go out.  On to the Viaduct Harbour and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge, enjoying the views of the Hauraki Gulf and city skyline.  The scenic drive then takes you to Devonport, a charming historic seaside village, for a chance to browse the interesting shops at your leisure, or opt to pop in to The Navy Museum for a glimpse of the Village’s historic past. The drive continues back over the bridge and on to hip and fashionable Ponsonby, all throughout Karangahape Road with its cheerful hustle and bustle and eclectic vibe. Spend a round of fun and learning at Auckland Memorial War Museum or at Kelly Tarlton’s Sea Life Aquarium - home to over 30 live animal exhibits in spectacular habitat displays, including the world's largest Antarctic penguin colony exhibit and amazing underwater viewing tunnels. Next up is Mission Bay for tea at The Promenade and spectacular views of Rangitoto Island and the beautiful Auckland Harbour. You can then opt to take in the extensive city views at the summit of One Tree Hill, and through wide green spaces at Cornwall Park, which is grazed by sheep and cattle, giving you the impression you are in the countryside.  Recommended tour time: 4 hours, with 2 stop-over points of your choice.

The Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) is a leading Auckland Museum with a focus on science, transport and technology.  This tour lets you experience the MOTAT magic at MOTAT Great North Road and MOTAT Meola Road, home of the multi-award winning Aviation Display Hall. Dunedin Sites tour - Selection options: The world Famous Cadbury Chocolate Factory Tour Just like Willy Wonka but better. Visit the site of the annual Run of the Jaffa’s - Baldwin Street the steepest street in the world. Depending upon time the driver can then take you to some of the cities more well know buildings such as the Forsyth Barr Stadium home of Otago Rugby and the Highlanders. Allow 2 hours for the tour. There is an entry cost for the Cadbury Factory Tour which is currently $20 per adult for a 60 minute tour. This price is not included in the cost of the tour.

Dunedin has a number of large murals that have been done on the sides of buildings during 2014-15. Some of them are hidden gems and are a delight and surprise when you come across them. Normally taking half a day to walk, we can custom build a tour of all of the major artwork and include a few of the lesser known works that are hidden away. Allow 90 minutes for the tour

LARNACH CASTLE & GARDENS TOUR

Situated on the picturesque Otago Peninsula, Larnach Castle is one of New Zealand’s premier visitor attractions. Lovingly restored by the Barker Family, the Castle and surrounding grounds are at the heart of the Dunedin visitor experience. A diverse business; Larnach Castle Limited offers the castle experience, award winning gardens, luxury accommodation, event management and unique dining experiences. Larnach Castle has received numerous national and international accolades. The gardens at Larnach Castle have been rated by the New Zealand Gardens Trust as a Garden of International Significance.

Entry to the Castle & Gardens is currently $30.00 per adult or Entry to the Gardens only is $15.00 per adult. Due to the distance from the city and wharf you will need to allow 4 hours for this tour. $85.00 per head for a group of 4 plus entry to Larnach Castle.

The Royal Albatross Centre offers wildlife and cultural tours of Taiaroa Head. Visit the world’s only mainland breeding colony of Royal Albatross, the historic Fort Taiaroa and see the Little Blue Penguin colony at Pilots Beach. People come from all over the world to enjoy the spectacular views on the Otago Peninsula, The Wildlife Capital of New Zealand. With its 20 km long harbour, Otago Peninsula is the home of an abundance of magnificent world famous wildlife. Seals and penguins are also frequent visitors to Taiaroa Head.Entry to the Albatross Centre is currently priced between $20 and $110 depending upon the attractions visited.
